Hello everyone... This is an interview time and today Author Margaret Segal is with us for her children's book "The Adventures of Harry the Inside-Outside Cat". So we asked some questions to her and here are her answers:
- When
did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Ans. => I’m not sure when the notion of being a
writer took hold. I’ve always loved the
English language and reading. I think it
gradually became a part of my life, particularly after I’d come to terms with
some major personal, family, and health issues that needed quite a bit of time
before they were resolved.
- How long did it take you to write your book?
Ans. => With it being a children’s book, it didn’t
take a long time. And because it’s based
on the life and times of a real cat as opposed to an imaginary one, that made
it very real and an easy, fun story to tell
- What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
Ans. => I work writing into my everyday schedule as
best I can. I don’t have specific dates
and times when I write – it seems to happen more fluidly. I guess I’m lucky that way!
- What brought you to write this book series?
Ans. => The
uniqueness and special personality of Harry the cat. His story just called out to be told, and the
second book is in progress as we speak.
- How you become a published author? Any inspiration?
Ans. => Real
life has inspired me over the years. As
to my book, I wanted to write a sweet, fun story that children and adults would
enjoy, and this wonderful cat named Harry happened to show up at just the right
time. The world is in a difficult place
today on many levels, so I wanted to create something to put smiles on people’s
faces.
- When did you write your first book and how old were you?
Ans. => “The
Adventures of Harry the Inside-Outside Cat” IS my first book, and I wrote it in
2016. But I’ve written many other pieces
in other writing styles, from non-fiction to poetry to humor to inspirational
pieces, most of which have been published over the years.
- What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Ans. => Read,
travel, work in the garden, and especially doing volunteer work with several
different organizations.
- What's next for you? What are you working on now?
Ans. => As I mentioned earlier, I’ve begun the second
book, where Harry will go on another adventure.
I won’t reveal the nature of the adventure, other than to say it
involves a dog...which should be fun, since the real-life Harry does NOT like
dogs (especially large ones), but for some reason, he’s started to befriend
THIS particular very tiny dog!
